Happy Holidays!
My name is RJ Hammond, and I’m a proud graduate of the ServiceCorps Program at the Coatesville Youth Initiative (CYI). I participated in CYI’s program during its second and third years. Today, I’m writing to thank you personally for your past support of the Coatesville Youth Initiative and ask for your continued generosity in helping others like me succeed. This program still means a lot to me because it was crucial in helping me become who I am today.
Before joining the Coatesville Youth Initiative program, I had never considered my future. I had never had a real job, and I was very nervous about starting my first year of high school. Fortunately, my mom told me about CYI. I was hesitant at first but decided to go through the interview process. I was accepted, and, as they say, the rest is history!
During my two years in ServiceCorps, I gained experience in a field I had never thought about -yet loved- the medical field. I also made new friends in the program who helped my transition to high school much easier. Those positive experiences completely changed how I moved forward in life. During my second year at CYI, I worked in the operating room of Brandywine Hospital, and I loved it! Although ServiceCorps taught me the professional skills I needed to succeed, your generosity made it possible for me and many others to pursue a brighter future.
Ten years later, I am a registered nurse working full-time as a float nurse at Bayhealth in Delaware. I help people across different units, covering every shift, and I love what I do. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the Coatesville Youth Initiative and the generosity of supporters like you!
As we approach the end of the year, I’m asking you to donate to the Coatesville Youth Initiative. Your support doesn’t just fund a program; it transforms lives. I’m living proof of that! Your generosity has been instrumental in the success of the program. With your continued support, this program can continue to provide opportunities for others to follow in my footsteps and discover their calling while gaining priceless experiences.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity and for believing in people like me.
Sincerely,
R.J. Hammond
